I was watching "the truth about the jesus myth" mini series a while back. I didn't know what to believe until it started getting into buddhism, which i know alot about.
-The incarnation of buddha was not from the "holy ghost", rather a sixed tusked elephant from the heavens (big difference).
-No one know's what day jesus was born, when the roman empire was busy taking everything over they used the catholic church to adopt
pagan traditions. One of those traditions was christmas.
-I don't even know where they got the idea that buddha was born on christmas day Neutral
-Buddha never said he was the greatest among men to his mother
-Jesus never told Mary that he was the son of god, angels did. In fact Jesus never told ANYONE who he was, Peter recieved such information from personal revelation(sp?)
- Aside from buddhism, Krishna had a father. They even talk about krishna's father later in the film.
I don't know where they get all these myths that are "surprisingly simaliar to the story of Jesus." Especially Buddha being alpha and omega, the supreme being, Gautama Buddha only revealed himself to be enlightened. These crackpots are making all this up.
Their just picking out any bit of info that support's there view that all religion is based around astrology. Like them soundbiting bible verses an going "HA, look at that. We're totally right!" While ignoring the rest of the bible
With the first video itself being full of misconceptions and lies what makes you think the rest of this is so factual?
The problem with all these video's/VLogs being a central source of information on this site is that most film is generally biased when it comes to a certain perspective. This one in particular being biased against religion and leaving out any information that contradicts them.

I also didn't like how they pointed at religion and went "it has killed more people than anything else in history." Religion doesnt kill, extremists that go out of their way and break their religious law to get what they want kill.

I don't see a problem with the Vlog. You should be able to register and post a comment to it. I wish more people would post contradictory information! I totally agree that documentaries can be wrong in aspects and would love to see people pointing that out! Instead what I see is them commenting in other forums about it.. well if they want everyone that watches it to see the comment; they'd post it on the Vlog itself wouldn't they? I'm somewhat liberal with what I post there because there's the opportunity to debunk docus or add a link to an expose. It's also a draw to the site. I'd comment more, but I don't want to be the only one commenting.

Thanks for the feedback!

Any thoughts on:

my first thoughts when i see a bunch of bible verses along with a farfetch'd claim is that those verses were taken out of context to fit someones theory. I could spend my time looking up the context of all those verses and verify there relativity in this situation, but i don't feel like burning all that time in the near future.

well..

it's such a big topic, that not one book or film can cover,
and angles and spin...

jesus christianity was used to replace the sun worship-pagan beliefs of the time in rome
and the festivals such as the solstices and equinoxes and other celebrations were just re-named.

any major church really, and there are supposed to be around 3,000 registered sects of christianity,
has an interpretation and set of outlines on how they do their thing...

for me,
the story may be old, and changed, and even maybe jesus wasn't god, maybe even jesus wasn't a man.

but the character of him, the words he says.. they're good. they really are.

and like buddha or krishna or whoever.. if they're saying 'be good' that is the point.

good or anti-evil or whatever .. love for your family... something grounding you in this.

go do good

this talk also covers the occult hidden side of the story

http://pharmacratic-inquisition.com

magic mushrooms (and peyote and other mind-altering drugs)

play a real big part in out history and religion.

the mind (soul) and the sun (sol)

as above so below

go do good

i remember when my super christian foster parnets found my copy of "the satanic bible". they flipped out on me about it and we had a huge debate about religion. and it basically came to a stalemate. just because i dont believe in the christian form of a god or follow what the bible says does not mean i dont have morals and am not an inherently good person. the satanic bible has commandments too. certainly not the same. but its never good to be bad. if ya know what i mean...

I just checked, and it shows no comments awaiting moderation. Haven't had a comment from someone other than me in a very long time.

Paul was the 1st king of the Israelites!!! http://www.thefreedictionary.com/saul

A country, a people that was created for this purpose!!!

These are all stories of the 7 priests who wrote the bible in Aramaic for the Hebrew speaking jews. (This don't make sense I know. Still trying to figure it out.)

If we see how old the earth is then our short existence is just a blip on the screen!!!

These religions(programmes) are a form of mind control to the extent where you start to develop a conscience that won't allow you to question or do research without the guilt hanging over you, so therefore in turn you start monitoring yourself into oblivion - I'll be damned if I question the bible, the elders or the religious corporation!!!

Troglydytes, Druids, even ancient Egyptian civilizations had none of these enforced religions, nothing about Israel, nothing about a chosen people, nothing about the 12 tribes... Nothing about all major religions... but the hidden hand was there written in the stars!!! So in truth to even go into detail of a book that was written for a political purpose... just shows the extent of "Disinformation On A Mass Scale"

I have red the Talmut, torah, khuran, bible and satanic bible. Reading the talmut doesnt make me jewish, redaing the khuran doesnt make me muslim but why is it that when you read the satanic bible people automatically assume you are a satanist???
The satanic bible was not what i expected and a lot of what it says is good and honourable contrary to public beleif!!!
What i beleive is something in the form of the 10 comandments although i dont believe in heaven or hell and sure as hell i dont beleive in these prophets/gods/jesuses etc I beleive that humans are too weak to accept that once we die thats it and they needed something to stabilise them so religions were invented!!!. A thousand years down the track (if the earth is still inhabited with humans) they will make fun of how wrong we were as we do in our minds at the previous generations saying the earth is flat etc.

Cheers
Chris

Well for one science cannot prove how old the earth is, it only has theories and [inaccurate] dating methods.

I've been to plenty of church's where your allowed to question the doctrine and historical accuracy of it. Most of which encourage such questions.

in your last paragraph you don't make much sense.

Science also cannot prove that Gravity is caused by little invisible gnomes pulling down on things. Come on, get real. I've heard people suggest that the almighty Creator put fossiles on Earth to test people's faith too... Do you ascribe to that one, as well?

Listen to bill hicks much?

Well for one dating methods for one have proven to be false within recorded history

ever hear of that snail that turned out to be 120,000 years via carbon dating?

Different enviorments and living conditions give you different results, even for dating methods(do your research). So and if we're wrong within recorded history, and we are unable to test its accuracy(sp?) outside of recorded history(which is what science is based off of- testing) what makes you so sure of its accuracy?

Hell, from this point on dating methods are a pseudo science to me because they can't be accuratly tested past recorded history.
