It seems like the best way to prevent the hospital from performing certain undesirable procedures on your child without your consent is to have your childbirth at home. Otherwise, while in the hospital, don't let the child out of your sight and deny all of their unnecessary procedures. For my child, there will be no vaccinations or (if male) circumcisions.

I need to see the paperwork that the hospital asks expecting parents to sign, to see if they try to sneak something into the contract like, "I knowingly and willingly allow [vaccinations] [circumcisions] or any other medical procedure deemed necessary by the hospital's professional resources to be performed on my child...etc." Any language like that will need to be lined out, signed, and dated to remove it properly from the contract.

Hmmm... seems that maybe perhaps the procedure is equivalent to money farming and not really about religion or cleanliness. To keep people from seeing what really goes on, religion and politics enter the scene. To me it's another version of Babylon story, anything to keep the people scattered and not united.

But as I've read most of the arguments from both sides, I've come to the conclusion that the fights are not directed where they should be directed, and that is to the medical money makers. Most of the arguments coming from whats-her-face and the male members (no pun intended! haha) of this forum seem to be about moral/ethical topics. But the money thing just came to my attention. Thanks for posting that!

Definitely agree, give birth at home. Hospitals are dirty nasty places anyway.

Is it a coincidence that there is an increasing amount of Cesarean births vs. natural births after growth in the home birth field? Are they inventing reasons why a woman should have surgery to give birth so they end up making more money and also traumatize the baby? I half wonder if the baby misses out on something if it's not born in the usual manner. Seems more natural to be vaginally born rather than being literally ripped from a comfy environment, often too early. As in, planning births to change the birthdate. Like what some women did for June 6, 2006. They didn't like the 666 idea and figured if they induced or performed a Cesarean birth before or after that date, then their child wouldn't be the child of the devil.

I have never been with a man who had an uncircimsized package before, but I have heard the same from other women, that it's more pleasurable.

Researching that phrase to find the doctor, I find that it was from a book called "Sex as Nature Intended It" written by Kristen O'Hara. I could not find evidence to show that she is a doctor, or that she won a Nobel Prize.
