Somewhat funny
Funny to me anyway.
The setup, I have been growing my beard for about 6 to 7 months now and it is starting to freak the beardless asians out a bit. They are either fascinated and want to touch it or they start laughing out loud when the see me. Before I grew it I was just someone everyone ignored, even though I am a minority here.
I have been asked if I was Jewish, Mennonite, Amish, Muslim, etc... I was told by a big banker mason guy, that I called out, that I looked like a terrorist.
Anyway, I was on my way to work, and two Mormon Missionaries standing at a bus stop saw me coming, and got great big smiles on their faces. Now I have to say Mormons don't usually try to talk to me or convert me or whatever, they are more interested in Chinese people. But I happen to be wearing a Russian military shirt, so as I passed them by, one said hello in English and the other said hello in Russian. I just kindly smiled and kept moving, cause I was late for work. But this was the moment, that I have been waiting for several months now, but I just did not have the time today. I have been hoping that the Mormons would try to convert me so I could talk to them about space aliens and Joe Smith and the Masons and Mason architecture, and etc... But maybe another day. Anyway I found it funny, cause I must have reminded them of something or their elders, or the many lost souls in Utah that quit the church and grow beards, and I guess my soul needed saving this AM.
