We finally did it !!!

My brother and I just made our first batch of dog food for our K9 friends. Elliot, my brother works at a restaurant, he was the Seu Chef for three years and hurt his back in a four wheeler accident. He cannot work in the kitchen anymore for long periods of time, or anything requiring him to twist his lower back repeatedly. Now he is the Front and Back of the house manager, so he can do what he wants.

The other night, we spent 4 hours making dog food.

ingredients: Broccoli, Spinach, garlic, carrots, salmon skins and stomach flaps, beef heart and livers, brown rice and unbleached flour.

The ingredients are all put through the food proccesor and mixed after boilled and cooked. The mixture is then ran through a bakers cone, used for icing cakes, and pressed to small dots on wax paper. Then these kibbles spend 25 minutes in the oven at 250 degrees.

Its isnt that bad either. real strong taste.

I took samples to the kennel I work at and the dogs went crazy for it. Also, Turkish, Brodie, Alligator Annabelle, and Vinyl love the new food.

We are think for the next batch adding more brown rice and maybe yams.

Any ideas are definately welcome.

The food is refrigerated for use upto three days. The rest is frozen.
