Just a fixed copy of something I found:

Thanks to Joseph Smith, a mason and founder of the Mormons, the LDS has shared a subtle intertwining relationship with the Craft. Originally called "Garments of the Holy Priesthood"...In the Temple Endowment Ceremony, the masonic square and compass marks are identified with basically the same meanings given to masons in the Blue Degrees.

Mormon Church

And for the Watchtower people who come knocking at your door asking if you want to be one of the glorious 188,000 people raptured or whatever, their founder obviously was either aware and influenced by the Knights Templar or was secretly a member...

hey look, its another religion calling out the mormans bluff.

what kills me is this paragraph.

A WORD FOR MORMONS:
Are you struggling to live up to the perfection of Mormonism? Do you have questions and doubts about Mormon teachings? Are you feeling like you are falling short of perfection? At Life After Ministries we understand your struggle. We understand the shame that Mormonism places upon you like a heavy yoke. Mormons have been taught a lifetime of doctrinal mistruths passed down through the generations beginning with Joseph Smith that hinder the relationship that our personal, loving God desires to have with you. These Mormon lies taught to many of you since you were little children differ greatly from the Good News found in the bible where the Rock of our Salvation teaches there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. No Church is needed to grant it. No works are required to obtain it. At LAM we challenge the Mormon doctrines that steal eternity in heaven from sincere people and work to assert the Christian doctrines of Jesus Christ, by the authority of the Bible, while fighting to expose the false doctrines of Mormonism.

Mormon church obtained Vietnam draft deferrals for Romney, other missionaries

Quote:
By Michael Kranish, Globe Staff | June 24, 2007

As the Vietnam War raged in the 1960s, Mitt Romney received a deferment from the draft as a Mormon "minister of religion" for the duration of his missionary work in France, which lasted two and a half years.

Before and after his missionary deferment, Romney also received nearly three years of deferments for his academic studies. When his deferments ended and he became eligible for military service in 1970, he drew a high number in the annual lottery that determined which young men were drafted. His high number ensured he was not drafted into the military.

The deferments for Mormon missionaries became increasingly controversial in the late 1960s, especially in Utah, leading the Mormon Church and the government to limit the number of church missionaries who could put off their military service. That agreement called for each church ward, or church district, to designate one male every six months to be exempted from potential duty for the duration of his missionary work.

Post Mormons: Racist Judaic endorsing ideas Reply with quote
The Book of Mormon ( II Nephi 5:21-23) talks about the cursing of the Lamenites(??) by God which turned their skin "black" and "loathsome" Its in their own holy book(written 1823)! It seems to me that this is directly related to the ideas of the highly respected Jewish "scholar" Maimonodes (1135-1204) who claimed that God "punished" and "cursed" Ham the son of Noah by turning his skin black. His reasons for this are disgusting...

Its all a sham and a lie created to promote and endorse the oppression of the black people. Maimonides effectively endorsed the Intercontinental slave trade (it was booming at the time) and the Mormons endorsed the American south.

DNA vs. The Book of Mormon

THIS FILM AVAILABLE ON DVD FOR $4 A COPY AT:

For more than 170 years, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has declared the Book of Mormon to be a scriptural and literal history. Subtitled "Another Testament of Jesus Christ," it recounts the story story of an Israelite family who immigrated to and fully populated the American continents. Jesus, after His death and resurrection, is said to have visited this once-great Israelite civilization existing in the Americas.

The Book of Mormon teaches that these Israelites are the principal ancestors of modern-day Native Americans. New discoveries in DNA research currently allow scientists to test this historical claim. Thousands of Native Americans from more than 150 tribes have been tested to determine their ancestry.

Now the same DNA evidence used in courts of law can credibly speak to the validity of The Book of Mormon, which serves as the foundation of the Mormon religion. The evidence answers one basic question: Are Israelites the principal ancestors of Native Americans?

"DNA vs. The Book of Mormon" presents the evidence from DNA researchers, including Mormon scientists, who are wrestling with the DNA dilemma that now faces Mormonism.

Participants: Thomas W. Murphy; Dr. Simon Southerton; Dr. Randall Shortridge, and others.

I'm surprised about how little I know regarding the Mormon religion after growing up in Idaho in close proximity to the hub of the religion. I remember as a teen thinking either one of two things. Either they were crazy for being so intent in their beliefs or they were crazy for being irrationally devious and rebellious and did things that were just a little bit over the edge. I think I might need to go watch the Mormon episode of South Park to go calm my nerves.
