New Feature: Opposingdigit.com! |
|
You'll need to allow scripting:
http://opposingdigit.com
-Finally a use for this alternate domain other than being a guinea pig station.
I'll probably develop this a bit more in the days and weeks to come, but the basic premise is there.
Should I make a background, or change the theme/ style?
Feedback, Ideas?

I'm sure I will be able to come up with a nice V-ray rendered wallpaper to promote opposing digits. Already have a nice design in mind and i'll have to start making it. Looks like I might put my current project on hold for a while (the dashboard and interior of Knightrider's KITT)
Anyway the new site looks great and looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Here's an idea for it:
I might add an upload page where you guys could upload images and maybe other things for use in the forum since we know the default image host sucks. Best I know of atm is http://imageshack.us/

I dig it. (From a major Lurker) |

Hey,
I visit this site everyday (thank you so much, by the way!). I like the alternate site; it is easy to to navigate, and it's a good link for folks who've never been here.
There's my two cents.
Later!

Well here's a 2 hour effort that I just finished - rendered with the wicked V-ray renderer took about 25 minutes to render. And I can make it in other sizes upon request..crits & comments please...or even ideas...i'm listening!

If the file size can be reduced, and put some contact information in a signature on it (advertise yourself).
I made some tools available on the page, now you should be able to add temporary windows like your favorite image uploading site, etc.

I can reduce the file size easily enough (will do tonight) as most files that are rendered in 3D programs such as 3D Max tend to be on the large size. Mind you some texture files that I have for other projects are about 16-20mb each!
Will also put a signature (probably Octopus studios which is the name i've lately been using for my artwork) and contact details that will have the adress of my Portfolio on CGsociety.com as I don't want yobbos (aussie slang for idiots) spamming my normal email with pron, viagra and the like.
Glad you like the image and if want I can render it in 1024 x 768 size which would be more beneficial to the background of the page. I still have to render the image with V-ray global illumination and caustics enabled but that will take about 3-5 hours.

Cheers mate!! I'm still learning 3D MAX. I can't animate for shit and I have never tried to do a person or other character. Well IG88 was a robotic character so I guess that counts. thanks a lot mate!
Also I rendered in 1024x768 format and got the file size down to about 125kb which is a reasonable size. I'll post that tonight hopefully.

Ok guys here is the 1024 x 768 wallpaper resized down to a mere 130 odd kb. This should look a lot better on the background of the site without tiling.

html to bbcode |
|
I added an html to bbcode page for people who like to post articles and make them look nice with little fuss.
To get html code in Firefox: highlight what you want to copy, right click on it, and choose "View Selection Source", then press Ctrl+C to copy selected text. You can then enter this text into the converter to have it converted to BBcode.
Here's a sample of how it can be set up:
... and yes.. you can use it for non phpbb forums as well. It will give you extra options for some others that have proprietary or additional bbcode support.
If you use Firefox, you may be interested in these addons also:
Unfortunately the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) functions are limited to html.
