Marijuana and how it should be legalized.... need pos/neg

I agree with anti-drugs, full heartedly, but when the government does stupid commercials like this, it honestly makes me want to prove them wrong. Yes, the WHOLE top half of this message was already written for me. I do not want to be paying taxes for something the government has wrong. I WOULD NOT PAY ANY TAXES, and i would evade the IRS JUST because I DONT WANT TO PAY FOR SOMETHING i, and MANY others, KNOW that its wrong.
Now on Marijuana.... I dont know what to do, where to go, who to contact, but im sick of it. im a 19 year old who is smokes everyday (i am smoking as i type this). Now Marijuana was put on this planet, PLANET, IT WAS PUT ON THIS PLANET to BE USED. EVERYTHING on this planet is usable to a certain point. God made an apple tree so animals and humans can EAT its fruit. God made grapes for us to eat. God made grass to keep the dirt on the ground so its not a desert EVERYWHERE. God made the COCA plant to make Chocolate, NOT COKE (man made). God MADE marijuana for the ENVIRONMENT.
Why would god make marijuana for the environment? Maybe it was for the animals, so they could NATURALLY cure different things. Maybe it was ment for the cure of many different things.
Maybe God put marijuana on this planet for a SAFE meens of RECREATIONAL fun, like alcohol. Alcohol brings IMMORAL ACTIONS if drank too much. Now too much means INDULGE over the limit. That was never intended, but people do it anyway.
GOD put MARIJUANA ON THIS PLANET, WHY? who knows BUT I DO KNOW that IT IS ON THIS PLANET FOR A REASON.
Humans produce a different variable of THC, if we already have THC in our body, we are basically giving ourselves a missing element in our body. Yea, it might not be intended for us to smoke or eat, or IS IT!!!!!
Im just sick of people saying NO to marijuana. I WOULD RATHER have my kids smoke pot then smoke tobacco or drink alcohol. Yea i wouldnt want them smoking if they were too young, but if i had to choose i would choose marijuana over EVERY SINGLE ITEM in this world that would be bad for my child. Alcohol KILLS your kidney and many other items. Tobacco kills with cancer and many other things. Marijuana DOES NOTHING. Your GOVERNMENT tests need to be publicized SO MORE PEOPLE ARE INFORMED. Its almost like the government is RAN by one persons opinion. I would gladly get on stage and argue my points in front of ANYONE. Please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Marijuana can help MANY PEOPLE in MANY different SITUATIONS. Marijuana would help cut down the use of police on marijuana so they can be used on targeting the HARDER drugs like meth and cocain. I AM 100% against the USE of MAN MADE DRUGS. PLEASE for the love of GOD we need more HELP on targeting these people who sell these drugs, or make them.
And the best way to do this? Well it DOES NOT look like the government has enough money to fund the police/law enforcement agencies, let alone DO something about it.
ALAS! I HAVE A SOLUTION!!!! LEGALIZE MARIJUANA. The government can produce marijuana in LARGE quantities, larger then todays illegal farms are producing. The profit of marijuana is larger then anything conceived by man. There are more marijuana users out there then there are coke heads, meth heads, crack heads, and heroin addicts.
I wonder why? Well maybe because marijuana was on this planet before anything else.... just by chance? Now if the government was to MASS produce marijuana, it would add a COMPLETELY new source of income. Instead of RAISING taxes on various items, like tickets for marijuana, taxes for everyone, why not just add a new source of WORLD WIDE revenue.
20 bucks for one gram of a plant. 1 gram! 1 plant produces about 400 grams of marijuana depending on the type of marijuana. Do the math, 400 x 20 = 8000. thats 8000 dollars they can use to try to get the dealers of meth,crack, etc. Now do marijuana in mass scale?
Lets say, every day, at least 300,000 people buy marijuana a day. Now, if each person bought at least 1 gram a day, for 7 days a week, 356 days a year, thats an annual income greater then just about anyone living in this world.
300,000 x 356 x 20 = 2,136,000,000.... THATS 2 BILLION extra. Extra 2 billion to try and help the war on DRUGS (not medicine). Thats another source of income for farmers, another source of income for the government, another source of income to help pay off the countries DEBT.
Now in reality, more then 300,000 people in the USA smoke marijuana. This would stop the jails from being overcrowded from stupid police officers who arrest people for carrying a plant that relaxes everyone, removes the stress from everyday life, maybe even a longer life. (LESS STRESS = longer life?) Just think of a STRESS FREE life, where EVERYONE could just sit on a park bench with some stranger, AND SMOKE A JOINT. No instead i have to go buy pot of a dealer, i have the chance of getting killed because who knows if he sells anything else too.
The government would make it so ordinary people like me and my friends, would not have to deal with someone who might sell substances that KILLS YOU. In turn, safer for me cause i know i can go to the clinic and buy a set amount for a price and not have to worry if he might kill me because he wants my money.
PLEASE Feinstein, can you please help me. I need to find a way to help people like me. And i need your help to help them too. PLEASE
I used to use meth alot. i was addicted and i never was sent to a facility to help this matter. I never thought i would quit that drug until marijuana came into my life. I tear at the thought of my early life. I almost ruined it. All because of a man made substance. Marijuana SAVED MY LIFE. The moment i took my first hit of marijuana, i stopped using. I was so much happier, i actually ATE food, i was not seeing things, i was not hearing things, i was sitting in a park, smoking a joint, thinking about how BEAUTIFUL nature is. I would rather move somewhere where i could smoke pot for the rest of my life in peace, but by nature so i can watch how GOD gave me a plant to enjoy, and enjoy i will.
Please, as i wipe the tears off my face, i am hoping for a response, not automated but a personal response. I want to talk to someone so i can help these people.
Hello there Nephrosis! I am also against government having any control over what we do with our private property (in this case, our bodies). The use of marijuana should not be illegal. Since "We the People" do not agree with the anti-drug laws that our servant government tries to force their masters to comply with, "We the People" should continue following the true law of the land: the Constitution of the united States of America. It states nothing about drugs that I can see. (Trying to use this argument against the police is not a good idea, so try to avoid that situation as much as possible! )

I've usually gotten more direct arguments. For me it's been just that some plants are poisonous and therefore implying that marijuana is harmful. I see this as a strawman argument. That's just pure assumption nor is it poisonous because by definition that means pot smokers would be dead by now.
How is it harmful when it increases your appetite, makes you sleepy and alleviates the mood? The irony is that the same people will have no problems taking any of the modern prescription drugs that probably do far more damage then any single joint.
There is no lobby for marijuana which can even begin to compete with the dollars that Big Pharma has to throw around to maintain their monopoly power.
I am not one who supports drugs -- reality is intense enough for me. Especially these past years with the Bush Crime Family in power. However, if I were to learn tomorrow that I had cancer and lost my appetite, I would be smoking the hell out of the stuff in order to keep myself from whithering away. The hell with corporate profits -- I shouldn't have to pay for a remedy when mother nature is giving me one for free!
As for the arguments against marijuana... First, there is the 'gateway drug' argument, which may have some merit to it. But it's correlative, not causative. Second, there is the fact that it may compete with tobacco -- which is a major tax generator for States. And lastly, there is the argument "we tried that in the 60s, and look what it did to our society!" There is the claim that marijuana makes people lazy, and less productive. In other words, by making it legal, we may actually reduce our almighty GDP/GNP. I didn't know anyone had a right to EXPECT me to produce anything, though...
