PETA Documents Cruelty To Chickens At Kaparos
Quote:
Click HERE to watch a video taken by PETA at Kaparos in 2006.
PETA and other humane organizations receive many complaints from local community members about the treatment of animals and the unsanitary conditions during kapporos. We are attempting to work with regulatory and enforcement agencies to ensure that those organizing kapporos events in 2007 are in compliance with all relevant health and animal cruelty laws.
Tyson Workers Caught Torturing Birds, Urinating on Slaughter
Quote:
Have you ever wondered about the ingredients in the Colonel's secret recipe chicken? If the flesh came from Tyson Foods, a major KFC supplier, there's a chance the big secret is that the bird was coated in human waste before reaching the dinner plate.
PETA conducted an undercover investigation in 2004/2005 at a Heflin, Alabama, Tyson slaughterhouse, but even that did not prepare us for the disgusting acts that would be documented during two 2007 investigations. On nine separate days, PETA's investigator witnessed workers urinating in the live hang area, including on the conveyor belt that moves birds to slaughter.
The investigator also documented sickening cruelty to animals in both the Georgia and Tennessee slaughterhouses. Supervisors at both facilities either were directly involved in the abuse or were made aware of it by the investigator—but they did not stop it. In addition to the cuts and broken limbs suffered by live chickens at nearly every slaughterhouse, the investigator documented the following:
* One worker admitted that he broke a chicken's back by beating the bird against a rail, a back-up killer stabbed birds in the neck area with knives, and several birds were hung from shackles by their necks instead of by their legs.
* PETA's investigator caught on videotape a supervisor telling him that it was acceptable to rip the heads off live birds who had been improperly shackled by the head.
* Workers—sometimes standing 4 to 6 feet away from the conveyor belt—violently threw birds at the shackles. Some animals slammed into the shackles and fell onto birds on the conveyor belt below, at which point the worker sometimes repeated the abuse.
* Birds died when their heads and legs became trapped under a door at the end of the conveyor belt that transported live birds to be hanged. A supervisor was aware of this problem but did nothing to stop it.
* The killing-machine blade often cut birds' bodies instead of their throats. Although aware of this problem, a supervisor offered no solution, instead blaming the problem on the "nature of the machine."
PETA has written to Tyson Foods and asked the company to fire all the workers who were responsible for the abuse documented in these two facilities, immediately install video cameras on all killing floors and in all hang areas, and hire its own undercover investigators to look for and report cruelty. We are also calling on Tyson and KFC to phase in a far less cruel method of slaughter known as controlled-atmosphere killing, which would eliminate worker contact with live animals.

what is the "veggie agenda" and how is it going to harm the people of earth?
the healthiest, most intelligent people i know are mostly vegans.
one thing i would agree with is that all these soy protein burgers, bacons, etc... are BAD.
everyone i talk to is under the impression that they are "REALLY healthy"
it does seem like there is a push towards vegetarianism... i just dont understand how it would benefit the "elite".... when there is such a strong link between meat-eating, poverty-stricken regions, and disease.
???

Don't worry
If you can't see the Veggie Agenda, doesn't mean that there isn't one. Don't worry, I am not trying to enforce my will on anyone.
I have a right to life, liberty and property and this should be enough to answer your question. But I will give some hints.
But if you want evidence of the agenda
Agenda 21
How will it harm the people of earth? Loss of Liberty
I would politely ask that you quantify and provide proof of your statements.

I actually live in a poverty stricken region and I would say that people eat whatever they can, for some it is collecting nuts and berries from the jungle, for some it is animals and plants from there farms, many of them live well into there 90's. But hey that is just what I observe first hand, I may be proven wrong by some report of a white coat priest. Now if you wanted to argue about western diet vs native diet, I would agree with you.
Be happy to have free will, even if it is unused.
Who needs organizations to dictate what we should do? for that matter who needs government to dictate what we should do. who needs governments using organizations to dictate what we should do.
The Answer is only Children.
It is like a Hersey kiss, but just imagine you get the big shinny wrapper, but instead of sweet chocolate it is filled with a turd, if you never look paste the wrapper you never get to what is behind it.
I would question the origin of foundations, and where they get there money from. I am sure that intentions may be of good intentions, but they may be controlled by a hidden hand.
who funds PETA?
and I am not saying this article is accurate, but stop and think for a minute.
To me this is the same method used by other organizations and war ons
War on Drugs produced more drugs in society and more forced laborers in the correctional system.
Also one needs to think of why food restriction would be used? the Lenin and Stalin famines come to mind.
The people for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, long been associated with the protection for the rights of animals. Millions of dollars have been raised for PETA.
There's just one problem; it seems most of the money being raised isn't going to help animals, but rather into killing them.
According to the Web site, activistcash.com, PETA collected nearly $29 million in 2004, yet it states that most donors have no idea where their money has gone.
The web site for The Center for Consumer Freedom states that PETA's animal shelter kill rate was 90 percent in 2005, a jump from 86 percent the previous year.
This is outrageous. The ethical treatment of animals is supposed to be the reason this organization even exists, but in euthanizing perfectly healthy and adoptable animals, they're contradicting themselves.
I like veggies, but I am a equal opportunity eater useless or otherwise.

CHOM BUNG, Thailand, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- The sign-up sheet for Sunday's Chom Bung 10-kilometer race in Thailand included a 94-year-old Thai farmer.
Peng Pemgsa started running at age 70 and has been in training ever since, Te Bangkok Post reported.
He says he has completed four full marathons and more races of shorter distances than he can remember. His marathon time is a respectable 4 hours and 20 minutes, the newspaper said.
After retiring from farming, Pemgsa said he was looking for something to do and got inspiration from a group of young people he saw running past his house. Though he has recently stopped doing full marathons because of the health risks involved, he continues to run every day.
I wonder what his diet consists of?

In public school, we're taught that other primates don't fashion weapons or tools. What if the smartest chimps were the meat eaters?
Chimp Hunts with a Spear
Quote:
Adolescent female Tumbo isolates a potential spear and modifies it. She begins to jab it into a tree to spear her prey. She then climbs the tree and begins jumping on the large limb, which eventually breaks off, allowing her to reach in and retrieve the prey, a bushbaby (Galago senegalensis).
B-Vitamins are key to good neurological health. Improper balance can cause deficiency in a particular b-vitamin. Meat tends to have a good balance including Vitamin b-12. I've read that b deficiencies can cause "that song stuck in your head", anorexia, depression, paranoia, ADD, etc.
