As humans, we are able to build our base of knowledge precisely because we credit/cite/link content when we use it. Citations and links, by acknowledging the original author, allow others to INDEPENDENTLY investigate the information provided (and to learn even more from the source if it proves credible). Without access to original sources (and references from those to additional, earlier sources), we cannot carry on the ongoing conversation necessary to our movement.
Pirating IDEAS as one's own (at best) only serves to sever the learning chain by making the knowledge untraceable and unverifiable (and therefore questionable). More realistically, information provided without sources (especially if posted on a forum by someone as open about himself as "unknown") comes across as IN-credible, and will likely be ignored/ridiculed. I suspect this is exactly what "unknown" is up to. This isn't about madthumbs's pride, it is about the work we are all (with the exeption of a few disinfos) attempting to accomplish. Does it matter at all, for example, that Einstein plagiarized his body of work, or are we just as well off anyway? Think about it--it's a genuine question.
It literally takes two seconds to copy and paste a link. So do it. Failure in this regard is the first sure sign of dishonesty.
I probably should stay out of this but, I understand where madthumbs should be pissed off. He's doing all the research and most of the work for this forum and other people are taking credit for it. It is true we are being lead by example. Our leaders are teaching us that plagerism is O.K. so, these pricks think it's alright to totally rip off somebody's work, in the name of some cause or some dream that's not going to happen anyway. We are too stupid to do anything about anything and these mis-informants prove it's true! 1 They like to pitch bitch fits about religion 2 They get pissed off and attack the source of info., slandering, libeling, and otherwise discrediting the very source of information. then they corrupt the stolen bit to protect any sort of biased "facts" they feel like marinating our forever malleable brains in. In order to get to the bottom of anything, you actually have to do the investigating for yourselves. Do not take anybody's word as truth.
